Immigration based on family ties in Finland is one of the simplest and easiest way of arriving in Finland. You can apply the resident permit based on the family ties if one of your family members has obtained Finnish resident permit.

Who Can Apply

According to Finnish Immigration Law only following family members can apply:
  • A Spouse
  • A Registered Partner
  • A Cohabiting Partner
  • A Child
  • A Person who has custody of child under 18 years of age
“Parents, adult siblings and other relative cannot apply on basis of family ties. The concept of family is narrower in Finland compared to many other countries”.
